In 1998, Peggy Rogers lay down the ground work for this scholarship fund, as she saw the need that was and still is present within Zambia for education. Primarily the fund aided high school students to complete their high school career and to then study further as teachers.

This program has provided more than a thousand ton of books to school throughout Zambia, shipped from the USA. Additionally, it has also funded more than a 1000 students over the course of the last ten years, these included high school and college students.

The ZSF provides aid on all levels of education, working together with the current educational structure in Zambia. The main aim of this fund is to encourage students to become productive members, to be able to provide for their families. They build students optimism, confidence, enthusiasm, dignity and motivation to go from uneducated to become educated.

Libraries and textbooks are some of the things that have not really been heard of within Zambia schools. Thus, many children are only taught what the teacher can remember from their schooling days. The ZSF recovers textbooks that are being shipped to US landfills and redistributes it to the schools in Zambia.

Most students are eager and willing to sit on the floor, while listening to the teacher, just to learn something. There is no need for constructing schools, as there seem to be sufficient schools already in most areas, yet there is a great need for other assistance. The fund also aids with teacher’s kits, consisting of reading aids, paper, chalk and more. Additionally, they are also delivering desks, chairs, and maps to schools in Zambia, with a couple of computers to high schools.

This scholarship fund aims to help talented candidates reach their full potential. It aims to build students skills and knowledge in such a way that they can rebuild their nation and support themselves.
