About The Vodacom Bursary Program
There is a widely known shortage of skills within the ICT markets in South Africa. Vodacom is completely committed to aiding qualifying candidates in filling these positions. To achieve this goal they are offering 50 bursaries per year to successful candidates, within the required fields where a shortage is seen.
Each year top achieving students are granted bursaries to study in the ICT field, as well as the Engineering sectors. These candidates are from a previously disadvantaged background, aiding in building up the community. Vodacom has since their entry in 1999, awarded more than 1000 bursaries.
Bursary amounts vary and are limited. They take into consideration the student’s academic merit, in addition to their financial needs. Bursaries are awarded for a period of one year, but it is renewable. Vodacom bursaries are for students at any of the South African Recognized Universities. After completion of each study year, candidates will be asked to work for Vodacom, depending on vacancies, one year correspondingly.
