iX Engineers is a fairly new organization, established in 2016 after acquiring WorleyParsons RSA’s Public Infrastructure Business Unit, as well as the Black Jills Engineers (BJE) consulting infrastructure business. However, the company’s key staff members have over 35 years of experience within the infrastructure sector.
The consulting engineering company is mostly black owned, operates as a private company, and focuses on the public and private infrastructure sector. iX Engineers’ services include the following sectors: Transport; Water; Buildings & Services; Urban Infrastructure; Infrastructure Management; Environmental & SHERQ.
iX is currently a BBBEE level 1 contributor, whose values include: Excellence, Innovation, Leadership, Responsibility, Integrity, Capability, and Reliability.
ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
The iX Engineers bursary programme is aimed at assisting with the skill development of students who are interested in studying and pursuing a career in Consulting Engineering. Bursaries will be awarded to those studying towards a BEng/ BSc Engineering degree at a recognized University.
Bursaries will cover various fields of Engineering (including but NOT limited to):
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Information Technology
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview before final selection is made.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Registered to study at a recognised University in South Africa
- Studying full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Completed your first year of your undergraduate qualification OR registered for your second, third, fourth year or postgraduate studies
- NOT currently receiving financial assistance/ funding from another institution
