ABOUT THE UWC ERIKA THERON TRUST SCHOLARSHIP – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE
The University of the Western Cape is inviting female students to apply for the Erika Theron Trust Postgraduate Scholarship. The scholarship is open to Postgraduate students, pursuing Social Work studies (Master’s and Doctoral) at UWC.
The Erika Theron Trust was established after the passing of Professor Erika Theron, the previous chancellor of UWC. The Trust is committed to encouraging and assisting women to pursue their studies within the Social Work sector.
The value of the scholarship award will be determined based on the availability of funds.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE UWC ERIKA THERON TRUST SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be female
- You must have completed your first degree in Social Work at the University of the Western Cape
- You must be pursuing studies towards a Master’s or Doctoral qualification in Social Work, at UWC, in 2024
- You must have a strong academic record

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Academic transcript (certified copy)
- Degree qualification (certified copy)
- Reference letter from your employer
- Progress report, if applicable
- Work Plan for the 2024 year
- Letter of financial need or breakdown of expenses (optional)
