ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE

AECOM bursaries will be awarded for studies within the following fields:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Architecture
  • Project Management
  • Science

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees and prescribed books, practical training per university requirements during winter and/ or summer vacations.

MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – RENEWABILITY, SERVICE CONTRACT & SELECTION

Bursaries are awarded for 1 year at a time and are renewed annually based on academic performance – students must maintain a minimum average of 65%.

Once students have graduated, they will be required to work at AECOM – students must completed 1 year of full-time employment for each year of funding received.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and the final selection will take place by 30 November 2020. If you do not receive any feedback, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
  • Studying or intend on studying full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Minimum result of 70% for Mathematics in Matric
  • Minimum result of 70% for Science in Matric
  • Minimum overall average of 65% in 1st year of tertiary studies
  • Highly motivated
  • Intend on pursuing a career within the built environment sector
  • No working experience is required

  • Grade 11 results AND Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copies)
  • Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Latest University academic results, if currently studying at tertiary level (certified copy)
  • Proof of tertiary application/ registration (on tertiary letterhead)
