The company provides consulting, design, construction, environmental services (among other services) in a range of sectors, including Manufacturing, Mining, Power, Transportation, Oil & Gas and Government.

ABOUT THE GOLDER BURSARY – FIELDS COVERED

WSP | Golder in Africa is inviting students to apply for bursary funding, for the 2024 academic year. The bursary is available to current Environmental Science and Engineering students, pursuing studies towards any of the following qualifications:

Environmental Sciences: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Honours), with majors in:

  • Environmental Science
  • Geology
  • Hydrology
  • Hydrogeology
  • or another related field

Engineering: Bachelor’s Degree (BEng, BSc (Eng), BIng) in:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Bursary recipients will be able to undertake vacation work at Golder during university holidays, and after graduation, they may be offered employment opportunities at the company.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GOLDER BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Environmental Science students:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must be studying towards a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Sciences
  • You must be studying towards one of proposed majors, which include but are not limited to: Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology / Hydrogeology
  • You must be in the 2nd, 3rd or final year of study
  • You must be studying at a recognised university in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in the 2021 academic year to date
  • You must have passed all subjects in the 2021 academic year to date
  • You must NOT be in receipt of any other bursary or scholarship funding
  • You must be passionate about Environmental Science
  • You must be dedicated to your studies
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates

Engineering students:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must be studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)
  • You must be in the 2nd, 3rd or final year of study
  • You must be studying at a recognised university in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in the 2021 academic year to date
  • You must have passed all subjects in the 2021 academic year to date
  • You must NOT be in receipt of any other bursary or scholarship funding
  • You must be passionate about Engineering
  • You must be dedicated to your studies
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates
